Although wood infesting ants do not eat wood, they do cause damage by chewing and tearing wood to expand their nests.
The least you need to know about these insects:
- Along with Carpenter Ants, we have noted damage caused by Acrobat Ants, and Velvety Tree Ants.
- Moisture compromised wood is susceptible to damage by these ants. In some cases, there is no damage but ants throw down debris from voids that they have moved into.
- Treatments will vary in form, complexity and price depending upon the circumstances.
